In San Francisco many buildings of poor construction
were demolished and many homes were rocked off their foundations.
Over 50 fires broke out in the downtown area within minutes of the quake. San Francisco's deputy fire chief, said rescue workers are overwhelmed. "It's not the quake that's caused the mess, it's the bloody fire. We're scattered all over the city trying to fight it. It'll be three or four days before we even get it under control." |
